Anyone who seems to have all the answers for parents should not be trusted. Parenting is one of life's greatest challenges, and navigating the ups and downs of life as a parent can be exhausting and the source of high levels of stress. Our approach to working with parents is client-centred and strength-based, and also recognizes the monumental task that parenting presents. As a psychologist and a parent to 4 children (15 to 21 years old), I can certainly empathize with some of the challenges that parents face.

Common areas of exploration and focus could include:

  • Parenting styles

  • Nurturing resilience in children

  • Keeping children safe

  • Supporting your strong-willed child

  • Helping your kids navigate relationships

  • Stress and parenting

  • Supporting children with learning challenges

  • Navigating difficulty with school or learning

  • Parenting a child or teen with behavioural concerns

  • Understanding Self-Harm

  • Helping your anxious child or teen

  • Navigating sibling issues

  • Raising a good digital citizen

  • Understanding the impact of social media and technology

  • Raising resilient children

  • Growth mindset and parenting

  • Effective co-parenting strategies
